Supporting Local Artists at the Visitor Information Centers

The North Tahoe Chamber proudly supports local artists and small businesses by featuring their work in our Visitor Information Centers. Showcasing locally made art and products creates meaningful opportunities for residents and visitors to connect with the creativity and character of North Lake Tahoe while directly supporting the talented individuals who call this place home.

Currently, the Kings Beach Visitor Center is featuring Daniel Chavez, an NTCA team member, adventurer, and photographer with a passion for capturing the world from perspectives most never see. Whether trekking mountain trails, exploring remote landscapes by off-road vehicle, or venturing out at night with his camera and telescope, Daniel’s work brings both the vast sky and the earth’s hidden corners into focus.

Astrophotography is one of his deepest passions. Daniel captures celestial wonders that are often invisible to the naked eye, revealing the hidden beauty of the universe and offering a glimpse into worlds many have never explored. Through aerial drone photography, he adds yet another dimension, showcasing the scale and serenity of the landscapes that surround places like Lake Tahoe and beyond.

Daniel’s goal is to share these experiences with others — the wonder of the night sky, the thrill of exploration, and the quiet power of nature. He believes fine art photography should be accessible, not exclusive, and strives to offer his work at an affordable price so anyone can bring a piece of nature or the cosmos into their space.

Stop by the Kings Beach Visitor Center to view his work, and follow him on Instagram @jdanny_ch.

Kings Beach District to Host SNOWFEST Parade & Palooza on March 7

Community members and visitors are invited to join the fun and festivities

KINGS BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2026) – One of North Tahoe’s favorite winter traditions is back and bigger than ever! The Kings Beach SNOWFEST Parade & Palooza returns as part of the annual SNOWFEST celebration to bring the community together for a fun-filled celebration in downtown Kings Beach. Featuring colorful floats, costumed crews, live music and activities hosted by over 30 local organizations and businesses throughout the day, this is North Tahoe small-town magic at its best.

“This year, the Kings Beach business community is extending the festivities beyond the parade to include new events and specials designed to encourage people to spend the day in town,” said Darcy Parrillo, Kings Beach District representative. “From live music and a pancake breakfast to a dress-up-your-dog contest, pop-up events, crafts like mardi gras mask making, trivia and discounts offered by stores in town, there’s sure to be something for everyone.”

The festivities begin at noon on Friday, March 6 at the Kings Beach SNOWFEST Palooza Kick-off with art, music, dancing and more at the Tahoe Time Community Event Center. Kid-friendly activities will be offered during the day, and high-energy dance vibes will take over in the evening.

The official Kings Beach SNOWFEST Parade & Palooza kicks off at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7 with the NTPUD Pancake Breakfast, with festivities continuing until 4:00 p.m. The parade will take place between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., traveling east on State Route 28 between Secline Street and Raccoon Street. The announcing stand and judges’ table will be next to the King Building near the Bear Street roundabout. SR-28 will be closed to vehicle traffic from the intersection of SR-267 to Fox Street during the parade.

Long-time community leader Joy Doyle will serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2026 Kings Beach SNOWFEST Parade. Selected in recognition of her decades-long commitment to Kings Beach and North Lake Tahoe, Joy’s generosity of spirit, tireless advocacy, and deep roots in Kings Beach helped shape the community that exists today.
