Community Collaborative
The Collaborative is a partnership between the North Tahoe Chamber, Tahoe City Downtown Association, and Kings Beach District working together to support a thriving North Tahoe business community. While each organization serves a unique district and mission, the Collaborative was created around a shared belief that stronger coordination, communication, and partnership can create greater value for local businesses, residents, and visitors. Together, the organizations collectively support more than 500 local businesses throughout the North Tahoe region.
The Strategic Alignment Roadmap serves as the guiding framework for this collaboration. Developed through months of planning, stakeholder engagement, and business community input, the Roadmap outlines how the organizations align priorities, reduce duplication of efforts, and work collectively toward shared regional goals. The purpose of the Roadmap is to increase efficiencies, strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support a sustainable year-round economy that benefits the entire North Shore community.
The Roadmap focuses on four core areas of work: Business Services, Community Vitality, Economic Development, and Advocacy. Through these focus areas, the Collaborative works to support local businesses through education, networking, workforce development, beautification efforts, signature events, economic revitalization initiatives, and regional advocacy efforts. In addition, the partners are working toward greater operational alignment through initiatives such as a coordinated membership structure, shared communication strategies, and ongoing collaboration meetings.
At the heart of the Collaborative and the Roadmap is a shared vision: thriving communities and economies in North Lake Tahoe. By working together, the partner organizations can leverage resources more effectively, amplify the voice of the business community, and create a stronger, more resilient future for North Tahoe. The Roadmap is designed to evolve over time, ensuring the collaboration remains responsive to the changing needs of local businesses, residents, and the broader community.
